An orange little trick/treat

After school on Wednesday, Megan comes out to carpool with a small orange something in her arms. As I'm working my way up the very long line of cars waiting their turn to get to the curb, I'm looking at her, watching her, and discover the little orange blob she's holding is a kitten! She gets in the van and I give her one of those mom looks, ya know, with the raised eybrows and the chin down, like,"what in the heck, really?" Her response is something like, "I found it and the little kids are attacking, drive!" Anyway, long story shorter, after about two hours of trying to find the right place for this lost, shivering, skinny little kitten soul, we finally dropped it off at the animal control shelter/place. They were very nice people, much nicer than the nasty smoker lady at the seriously stinky Humane Society. Now Megan's hoping her cousin will adopt the kitten so she can go see "her cat" at their house. Josh keeps asking me, "Where's Megan's cat? When are we going to give it a bath at our house? Oh, the people are giving it a bath?" It was adorable, we had to do something. After all, like my kids keep saying, "If you were freezing cold and starving to death and all alone, wouldn't you want someone to take care of you?"

so the kitten is very cute...almost cute enough to keep, almost! You are such a good mom making sure the kids took it somewhere safe.

Too cute! What a bummer Max is allergic. What's a little sneezing anyway?!?! You know what happened when we found a kitten... her name is Nessa and she's curled up on my bed!
